Virtual Reality in Healthcare

Stepping into the Marker Seven office, your eyes may roam towards the floor and be greeted by two huge white eyes fixed upon you. But there’s no need to be alarmed. Our companion robot, Kuri, soon after it spots you, will surely roll on over to give you a welcome. Kuri continually reminds us that the digital world and reality are becoming increasingly intertwined. With Virtual Reality presenting new worlds and opportunities, it’s no wonder that the industry is expected to grow from $9.1 billion in 2017 to nearly $160 billion in 2021.

Agile Meet Agile

It is without a doubt that in the past few years, the agile method has changed how businesses function. The linear, waterfall way of approaching projects was thrown out the door in favor of a more flexible model.  The idea behind agile originated in software development. The fast-paced, instantaneous nature of software meant that products and services had to be developed rapidly to keep up with this standard. The agile methodology evolved as a response to these demands. As a company established in 2000, we’ve had the opportunity to work with agile since its inception.

Digital Media Literacy: KQED & Marker Seven Partner for Teachers

A challenge for many of today’s educators is working in an environment where their students are more computer savvy, adept at online research, and connected on social media than they are. Yet teachers are still charged with educating their classes on digital media literacy to make sense of today’s world. If the curriculum is adeptly taught, students develop the skills necessary to analyze, interpret, and accurately comprehend the online content they consume.

Email Backscatter

Marker Seven was recently inquired about an issue with a client's email account regarding spam email. The client's email account has seemingly been sending out spam mail, only to be bounced back into their own inbox as a delivery failure notice. However, no outgoing messages of the sort were found in the sent or in the outbox. After receiving an example delivery failure email and doing some research, Marker Seven has identified the problem and recommended a course of action to reduce the number of spam emails our client will receive in their inbox .

Drupal versus Wordpress

Every project we undertake has a unique set of demands, and we evaluate each on its own terms. When choosing a platform, we often find ourselves talking with clients about the merits of Drupal versus WordPress.

Both WordPress and Drupal work very well as content management systems. Each provides a robust mechanism for creating and delivering straightforward content. However, as an overarching framework for more than simple publishing, Drupal has far greater capabilities than WordPress, as it is designed to be leveraged and extended.

Part 2 -- Thinking ahead for our clients with virtual and augmented reality

This interview is the second in a series of three where our CEO John Clauss talks with longtime friend and Marker Seven advisor Evan Kirchhoff about augmented and virtual realities. You can see the first part of the interview here.

JC: Science fiction has lots of examples of VR turning deadly. But in real life, is there any basis in physics for the possibility of a holo-game potentially causing physical harm?

Thanks for an Awesome Party!

A huge thanks to everyone who attended Marker Seven's launch party for Fresh Victor cocktail juice blends! It’s always great to open our patio, mix it up with friends, and, of course, promote our amazing clients. If you’d like to try some Fresh Victor at home, look for it at your local Mollie Stone’s, Draeger’s, Robert’s, and Nugget markets.

Thinking ahead for our clients with virtual and augmented reality

Our CEO John Clauss sat down with Evan Kirchhoff, a virtual reality expert, and one of the members of our innovation team who has worked with us as a strategic advisor since 2001.

Their goal was to think together about the current and future states of virtual reality and augmented reality. Marker Seven is particularly interested in this line of thought because a number of our clients come from industries or are working on projects particularly conducive to AR and VR, such as medical equipment, educational platforms, and retail products.
