Marker Seven, announces that its site redesign for client Greenbiz.com received a Media Business Top 10 Award for best site re-launch. Greenbiz.com, a leading environmental news site and flagship site of Greener World Media Inc., was selected as one of the top 10 media sites from over 60 entries for the ‘great’ media sites honor.

Media Business magazine evaluated the sites based on appearance, organization and navigation, search functionality, video and other multimedia content and community/social media features. In citing Greenbiz.com for the honor, Media Business noted that since the completion of the new site in March, Greener World Media has seen double-digit growth in monthly unique visitors and page views.

Greener.com selected Marker Seven to redesign its site to accommodate its growing user community – several hundred thousand monthly viewers – with easier navigation and usability. In redesigning the site, Marker Seven employed Drupal, an open-source content management system, which enables users to manage a website without the need for technical expertise, and Solr to provide more powerful search functionality.

“We’re enormously proud that Greenbiz.com has earned this distinction,” said John Clauss, Marker Seven president.  “Greenbiz.com not only has a site that is much more accommodating to the needs of its users, the new design has helped to dramatically boost site visitors. We feel the success of the site is a result of the close working relationship we had with Greenbiz.com. The company clearly understood and articulated its goals so that we could determine the best design and technology to apply to achieve the desired results.”
