ArtSpan’s goal is to provide an online platform for artists to share their work, and participate in SF Open Studios, among other things. Their existing site was a little dated, and didn’t support the interactivity that the organization was hoping to achieve. The site had to be creative and intuitive in order to engage the art community of the bay area. It also required a sophisticated database to store a vast amount of artwork.

Marker Seven redesigned and architected the site to facilitate accessing and sharing information. Key to the redesign is a customized MySQL database containing over 5,000 pieces of artwork, along with an easily searchable artist directory. The site also enables users to conveniently sign up and participate in SF Open Studios, one of the largest art events in the area.
