A leading designer and manufacturer of innovative products needs a site that supports their vision.
THE CLIENT'S CHALLENGE
Intevac is a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of high-productivity manufacturing systems and high-sensitivity imaging products. The publicly traded company has a global presence with offices in the U.S., China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Intevac prides itself on its strong customer service focus. The company values every customer as a partner, aims to fulfill customer needs quickly, strives to communicate with customers in timely, open and honest manner, and above all places a high value on its customers’ success through its best-in-class products and services.
With these goals driving the company, Intevac realized it needed a new Website to handle client sales and facilitate an online ‘showroom’ for company products. The site requirements included improved ease of use, easier search and navigation, and a new more appealing visual look. Since the site also needed to serve as a tool for account and client management, Intevac wanted to be able easily make product updates.
MARKER SEVEN'S SOLUTION
Site redesign to optimize search rankings
Intevac selected Marker Seven to create a new corporate Website optimized for maximum search rankings to showcase its main product lines. To accomplish this, in redesigning the site’s layout and structure, Marker Seven revised and updated keywords and added and adjusted content.
Marker Seven enhanced the site’s ease of use by assigning color codes to the navigation, which also served to integrate the different product lines into a united corporate brand. The colorful redesign also adds visual interest to the site and reflects the company's dynamic power. A new horizontal layout for product divisions gives the site a unified, easy flow. The interface changes complement the site's back-end structural changes.
Marker Seven installed a new Drupal content management system (CMS), enabling Intevac to manage product information quickly and easily. The customized system streamlines account management, sales, marketing and internal communications.
THE RESULTS
Staff and clients alike find the new site easier to use.
Intevac staff and customers gave very positive feedback on the new site redesign and optimization, and traffic noticeably increased since the launch. Product images now “pop” in the new layout, and the design elements keep the site fresh, easy to read and engaging.
The content management system enables Intevac to edit, add and update content without the need for in-house HTML expertise. Because the company is able to edit content in-house, product information and news is always up to date.
