Marker Seven Reports Stellar Earnings for 2002

Marker Seven, a leading provider of web design and development services, ended 2002 by posting its tenth straight quarter of revenue growth and profitability. According to John Clauss, Marker Seven’s President, “We had a tremendous year, not only in terms of net revenues, but in terms of client acquisition, and company growth. We were awarded several high profile contracts which not only allowed us great visibility as a firm, but place us in the position to go after larger Fortune 500 firms in 2003”. Despite the lagging economy, Marker Seven has continued to thrive. This is largely due to their ability to keep down their operating costs. They win new contracts through referrals and networking, not extravagant marketing campaigns. Douglas Buchalter, Marker Seven’s CFO remarks, “By keeping our operating costs to an absolute minimum, our clients’ dollars buy service, not overhead. That translates into tremendous value”.

For the year, Marker Seven received business from twenty-two new clients, including such notable companies as Smith and Hawken, Harper Collins Publishing, and Outdoor Products. In addition, they acquired a small San Francisco based graphic design firm, expanding their services to include branding, print and graphic design. Clauss states, “Over and over our clients asked us if we could handle their offline branding and print needs, in addition to web design and development. We realized that by hiring on a team of premier graphic designers, we could be a ‘one stop shop’ for our clients, which is really what they desire.” Management at Marker Seven has laid out a plan for continued growth in 2003, while sticking to their original business model, “Lean and Mean”.
