GreenBiz.com, an online news resource, recently revamped its Web site to create a more user-friendly online community for its 100,000+ viewers.
GreenBiz.com, the flagship site of Greener World Media Inc., is the leading online resource for information on aligning environmental responsibility with business success. The site offers more than 20,000 resources, including daily news, feature stories and case studies.
Due to significant growth since its inception in 2000, GreenBiz.com required a more organized platform and easier navigation and usability for its increasing visitors.
San Francisco-based interactive Web agency, Marker Seven, implemented a innovative solutions software called Drupal, which enables users to manage a Web site without the need for technical expertise. It also provides companies with the efficiency of instantaneously updating all aspects of its site, including content, content organization, navigation, imagery, colors and typography.
Support for user management, content management, blogging and community and social networking features, makes Drupal's modular framework well suited for companies that want to continue to add features as their online initiatives grow. Because Drupal is free software, companies like Greenbiz.com can spend their budget on improvements, not licensing fees.
Through content reorganization and improved visual design, Marker Seven was able to architect a site that better represents GreenBiz.com as a trusted resource in environmental business news.
“We had great content, but our site was founded over eight years ago and it needed an update” said Pete May, president and publisher of Greener World Media. “We wanted to bring in an agency that would make our site more sustainable and give us a more vibrant, user-friendly platform.”
In their search for the right agency, it was Marker Seven’s quality of service and innovative thinking that was the deciding factor.
“Marker Seven understood our needs and worked with us to develop creative Web solutions for GreenBiz,” said Matt Weeland, managing editor of Greener World Media. “They spent countless hours making sure we were completely satisfied with the end result. With our new platform, it’s also going to be much easier to update and maintain the site.”
