We have some exciting news to share!
One of Marker Seven's very own, Meagan Timney, has been selected to present her research on digital book design at the Implementing New Knowledge Environments conference, “Beyond Accessibility: Textual Studies in the 21st Century.” Come June, Meagan will be traveling to Victoria, BC to share her paper, “Turning the Page: Rethinking Design for Digital Editions,” which discusses innovative modes of interaction within the realm of the digital text. Here is an excerpt from the abstract for her talk:
“We should leverage the mobile platform, re-envision the interface, and follow empathy-driven design principles that combine the simple pleasure of reading with complex scholarly editorial practices...

Marker Seven is excited to announce its debut onto the interior decoration scene!
Home design website, Houzz.com, has included our office in their recent "Choose Art with a Third Dimension" article, featuring a picture of our downstairs seating area displaying a C. Jere wall sculpture.
We want to congratulate our interior decorator, Soledad Alzaga, for her Houzz recognition and thank her for our functional and contemporary work place.
Check out the article here, where you can find the photo of our lobby at the bottom of the page.

We are proud to announce that our team has completed a site redesign for Earthbound Farm, an organic food and farming pioneer.
The new site not only conveys the company’s innovative approach to organic food and farming, but also improves the user's experience through enhanced online interaction, and an intuitive site architecture making it easier to find information about the company and its wide range of organic food products.
The new Earthbound Farm website is built on Drupal, making it easier for the Earthbound Farm team to manage the site internally. In addition to company background and product information, the site features a blog, extensive recipe database and ask our experts section.

The weather is cooling down in San Francisco and we're quickly approaching rainy season. Tahoe already got its first snow and while we welcome the winter with open arms (several avid skiers and snowboarders leave work early on Fridays for a trip to the mountains throughout the winter), we are hanging on to the warm memories of summer.
This summer, some of us at Marker Seven took some time off to adventure. Some went far, and some stayed near; a luxury to those fortunate enough to live in this state and city. Without further ado, here are some people, places, and things brought to you by the people of Marker Seven Interactive.

"Continental Resources was the type of client interactive agencies dream about," said Scott Abbott, creative director at Marker Seven. "The oil exploration vertical market had not truly embraced the Web, and Continental wanted to break the mold. It was a prime opportunity to be a leader and blow away the competition.
"Our in-depth discovery process helped us understand the client was extremely technology focused, yet cared immensely about the environment and communities it operates in. We were able to express all of those facets in the site via a variety of content and features, not the least of which was fantastic custom imagery we chose to use as the visual centerpiece of the site."

We are delighted to welcome two new additions to our Marker Seven team, Gerald Quiambao and Dana Mandolesi. Both are now settled into our San Francisco office and have already begun to showcase their project management skills. We love having them.
As result of her strong background in research methods and strategic business planning, Dana brings tremendous experience in managing both projects and people. Dedicated to using her skill set with clients and the internal team, Dana ensures projects are managed effectively and successfully. Her passions include technology based projects and non-profit strategy consulting. Dana practices yoga, a vegetarian diet, and has a unique background in costume design for opera.

“It is always a privilege to work with a client who thinks big,” said Scott Abbott, creative director at Marker Seven. “Zephyr asked us to develop the most comprehensive online real estate tool in the industry, and we worked with them to deliver it. Far beyond the typical MLS results, the site includes highly faceted searches, personalization, comprehensive school data...

Each year Marker Seven selects a local non-profit to support by lending our website development and design skills. This summer/fall we are working with Feather River Land Trust to help them reinvigorate their online presence and develop an online communications strategy.
Feather River Land Trust works to conserve land in the Feather River region and steward its ecological and cultural values for current and future generations.
Having spent countless hours exploring and enjoying Northern California’s mountains and rivers this organization is close to the hearts of John Clauss, Marker Seven CEO and Patrick Ford, Marker Seven CSO.
